As an AmeriCorps VISTA, I had the unique opportunity to shoot and edit videos for the communications team of the Local Investment Commission (LINC), a Kansas City area non-profit. My video-editing skills started out as a basic knowledge of Windows Movie Maker, but by the end of my service, I’d graduated to Adobe Premiere Elements and was utilizing some advanced techniques. While I remain an amateur videographer, I’m very proud of the work I did and consider it a wonderful outlet for creativity.

The first two video here were short videos that feature footage and interviews to tell a story about LINC’s programs. The third video combines my screen capture and video-editing skills to provide a tour of http://www.thebeehive.org/.

LINC engages the community in a number of initiatives that include before and after school programs, training childcare providers, and helping foster youth transition into adulthood. I had the privilege to go out into the communities LINC served and record the impact the programs had.
